I thought about a stamp ... from DPD of course ... and then I considered some cardstock packages that I have, but they are very heavy to ship ... so I then decided I would give away a package of a new stamp set I designed recently. When I designed this set I was thinking in terms of supporting our Canadian troups overseas. I will send the lucky recipient this set of stamps! I love this stamp set. If I had this stamp set I think I would use it to make cards for the troops but then I could see me using it on scrapbook pages for of father's WW2 picture's and military career. I sent away for his military records and would like to put together some scrapbook pages pertaining to that part of his life. These stamps would be perfect for that.

I have a MA in Canadian history so I would probably use these for scrap pages, Rememberance Day cards and, with my son (who at three is quite the stamper), for teaching him about geography and history. What fun...TFS!
What a great set of stamps. I would definately use them for cards for the troops. Also, I would use them on my scrapbooking pages. I have military pictures on both my family and dh's family. Also, dd takes the grandkids to the Rememberance parade every year so they know to remember. I have been trying to find Canadian military paper or stamps for years. Fantastic

WOW!! This set would be wonderful to use in my scrapbook for my daughter about her father. He is in the PPCLI (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry) and I would like to scrap the military photos I have of him for her. I have boxes of photos from all his trips to Cypress and elsewhere and all our photos from our 3 year stay in Germany. This set would just totally complete the book!! :o)

I have a good stamping friend in Canada, and I was born there also. I would love to have this set of stamps, to use for cards and for an album for my Dad, who was a Canadian!!!! Love it!!!!
My ideas are no different than anyone else that has posted here. We proud Canadians would use these wonderful stamps for:
- The 2007 Postcard For the Troops postcard campaign
- Scrap pages honouring our family heroes
- Rememberance, Flag & Canada Day
The possibilities are endless. I also trade ATCs with people around the world and I love sending them ATCs about Canada so I would have to add this to my list of things I'd do.

I love Canada and stamps that reflect our great country are a must for stampers who want to be involved with the cards for troops projects. This would definitely be a good set for that purpose.
I would love to use them for a scrapbook page or pages or my grandfather who served in WW1. I have his war records and I'd like to do a page on him.
I also had an uncle who was killed in service in Italy during WW11. Of course, I never got to meet him but he was well spoken of by his family. My aunt gave me the letters he had wrote to her while he was serving. She'd saved them all these years. Reading these precious words helped me come to know the man that was my uncle. He was a real hoot. He had quite a sense of humour and was a hard soldier to keep in line. He spent quite a bit of time in the hoosegow for being absent without leave LOL. I have another uncle who is still alive and it would really warm his heart if I were to do these and present it to him.
I don't think my reason for wishing to win this set is any better than any of those already submitted. I'd just like to. I don't expect to.

This is a wonderful set, Alanna. I can see lots of uses for it, both in cardmaking and scrapbooking. I remember when I first joined CST, I received a welcome card from one of the members with a map of Canada on it and a Cdn. flag. I loved that card and thought it was such a nice gesture. I also have lots of relatives in Europe that are always tickled to receive anything Canadian on their cards/envelopes.
Alanna, this set is marvellous! Of course I would use it for our troops for Canada Day 2007, if I could get the government (DND) to allow mailings to "Any Canadian Soldier" again. You see, they have removed all the postal addresses from their website and ask us to send emails instead. Don't fret though, I'm working on it....!!!!
I correspond with many friends out of the country and use every chance I get to promote MY Home and Native Land and MY flag...so I see many envelopes decorated with those stamps.
You have done a fantastic job with this set. Now I want to know the price! I just have to have them!!!

Alanna this is yet another GREAT set! Ditto to what everyone has said, and I would love to make some note cards for my mother-in-law too. She is very patriotic to Canada, and has passed this on to me.

Dear Alanna, when I first joined CST a few years ago I received a card from someone with a map of Canada and maple leaves on it. Always thought it would be such a great stamp to use for our troops. You could even put the words inside of the map. Wow It would be great to use when involved in overseas swaps. I think even for scrapbbooking I could use it. All my children marched each remembrance day and to put one of thier pictures in side the map. The set is just wonderful.
I also agree that your mom is a very talented stamp artist.
